Portugal excludes the Usa from intel about Venezuela – Iran…… and attacks American POLITICO.
It is becoming quite usual, but the circumstances leave us no option: a journalist from portuguese newspaper “PUBLICO” decided to do another favour to portuguese Foreign Minister, Augusto Santos Silva.
This time, Augusto Santos Silva decided to ask PUBLICO to put in bold letters, at the paper’s front page, a blatant attack against American world famous media outlet “POLITICO”. Augusto Santos Silva’s targets are always the same: the United States of America and Israel – this portuguese politician, very unfortunately in charge of portuguese foreign policy, is a lion when he talks about America and Israel – but he is a very soft lamb with he takes some stand on China, Venezuela or Cuba.
This time, PUBLICO – on his front page: one must wonder why…- is shocked with the fact that POLITICO proposed to portuguese government some sponsored content on this country’s presidency of the European Union. Shocking! Picture that Augusto Santos Silva made some statements (on the record) to his very cherished PUBLICO’s journalist – a distinguishing compagnon de route of BDS, the infamous anti-semitic movement in Portugal, according to some very well documented sources – saying that…pay attention…he received a dossier from POLITICO and he turned down the proposal because it was a superfluous waste of money…As the whole world knows, portuguese Minister Santos Silva is a political superstar who does not need any publicity…
This whole story was very strange, therefore, I decided to do some research on what really happened. Bear in mind that Augusto Santos Silva’s goverment has used this model of sponsored content in the past to promote his government’s initiatives at a global scale. For example, this is the same government which has betted high on electing Mario Centeno as chairman of Eurogroup. So, no, it was not because the government was concerned about portuguese taxpayers ‘ money – some strong political reason was behind this Augusto Santos Silva’s strong desire of revenge against POLITICO.
First off, the story is not as PUBLICO, following Augusto Santos Silva’s instructions, wrote: in fact, we do know, according to a source from POLITICO, that it was actually the portuguese government (and Santos Silva’s cabinet) which reached out to POLITICO in first place. And portuguese foreign Minister’s officials try to persuade POLITICO to write some laudatory pieces about portuguese government to enhance his reputation amongst their european partners. POLITICO has, however declined this incitement to action by portuguese foreign minister, Augusto Santos Silva.
Besides that – and more importantly – , a freelancer journalist who is a regular contributor to POLITICO was investigating Augusto Santos Silva’s role, and, the portuguese government’s in general, in the plot to hide sensitive and very important intel about the criminal venezuelan regime from the United States agencies. Portuguese Minister Augusto Santos Silva has been always very careful to even mention Nicolas Maduro’s name, his government has forged a special relationship with the Chavez-Maduro ‘s regime.
Well, back in early 2020, Juan Guaido made a stop in Lisbon, after his trip to visit some european capitals – and on that occasion, Guaido wanted to meet his representative in Lisbon, Jose Rafael Cots. The portuguese government accepted that this meeting took place in Lisbon airport, however, under one condition: venezuelan Guaido’s Ambassador could not share any information with the United States agencies or authorities – not even with the USA Embassy in Lisbon. So, dealing with the criminal regime of Nicolas Maduro, the most prominent worry of the portuguese government was to make sure the United States would be kept out of the loop about everything happening in Portugal involving Guaido and his representative in Lisbon.
Portuguese government’s decision, inspired by portuguese Foreign Minister Augusto Santos Silva, was totally incomprehensible. The United States of America could have helped Portugal and Europe making breakthrough progress in the quest to replace the Maduro’s criminal regime by a democratically legitimized government in Venezuela. And all the United States authorities in Lisbon were pretty much mobilized and committed to help the venezuelan people, acknowledging portuguese strong presence in that Andean country.
Even during the first time Guaido visited Lisbon, the United States Ambassador, George Glass, had welcomed him at the official USA Ambassador’s residence in Lapa, Lisbon – Guaido and his representative to Portugal, Rafael Cots, alongside some US agents, had dinner with Ambassador Glass to discuss the situation in Venezuela. The details about the dinner were (also very strangely) made public by the portuguese political analyst Nuno Rogeiro in a book entitled “Donald Trump – a Populist in the White House” (COFINA BOOKS).
For some reason, Augusto Santos Silva wanted to hide intel from the United States concerning Venezuela and its political situation – so much so that Guaido’s representative to Lisbon was escorted by portuguese top intel officers to the airport and he was prohibited from contacting any USA Embassy official. Upon Guaido’s arrival at Caracas, he was accused of transporting explosive artifacts by the Maduro’s criminal regime authorities.
This is a very common procedure adopted by iranian intel services who are controlling venezuelan government and law enforcement forces. The explosives found in Guaido’s bag were provided by one of the Hizbollah base near Maiquetia International Airport. This was a retaliation, among other reasons, because Israel declared its support for Guaido – whereas Guaido has unveiled to PM Netanyahu that under his leadership, Venezuela would move its embassy to Israel’s Eternal Capital, Jerusalem.
It is becoming more and more consensual that portuguese government could have done much more during its presidency of the European Union to deter iranian ships navigating in the Mediterranean with the clear purpose of transfering weapons to Nicolas Maduro’s criminal regime. These weapons are being transported to Havana to renew Cuban military and guerilla groups which operate in all Central and South America. Some of these weapons are likely to be illegally entering into the USA, through the Southern Borde rand drug cartels.
Instead of condemning Iran and its proxy venezuelan regime, portuguese Foreign Minister Augusto Santos Silva prefered to elevate the restablishment of the “Iran Deal” and the fight to reverse the sanctions against Iran as his top priorities while presiding at the European Union.
The attack against American media outlet POLITICO is just another evidence that proves beyond any reasonable doubt that the portuguese government has two main targets- the United States of America and Israel. For ideological and tactical reasons (as well as for reasons of convenience), portuguese Foreign Minister Augusto Santos Silva’s best friends are our cherished liberty’s best foes.
