William Acosta

Founder and CEO of Equalizer Private Investigations & Security Services Inc., William L. Acosta is a seasoned expert in international and multi-jurisdictional investigations, specializing in criminal defense and transnational organized crime. With over 44 years of experience, he has successfully closed cases across various criminal domains, including homicide, narcotics, and money laundering. Mr. Acosta’s extensive career includes roles as a police officer and investigator with the New York City Police Department, as well as criminal investigations with the NYC Department of Correction and the US Department of Treasury’s Customs Service. His military service as an E-4 Specialist in the US Army further honed his skills in communications and intelligence. He holds a BS in Organizational Management from Alliance University and a BS in Criminal Justice from PWU (CA). Since founding Equalizer in 1999, Mr. Acosta has coordinated investigations in numerous countries, including Germany, Italy, Spain, and various Latin American nations, establishing a global presence in the field of private investigations and security.
